In addition to his employment and academic endeavors he has served in leadership positions in trade and community organizations. As a former President of his local SHRM chapter Dr. Fedota worked with employers throughout Chicago suburbs to help bring their Human Resource practices to the next level through involvement in their professional trade association. He has also served as President of a multi-employer, multi-state employee benefit trust, which had it been a stand-alone insurance company, would have been the 9th largest carrier in the nation.
Steve is active in a variety of community and church events having served as the project director of a Habit for Humanity house and treasurer of his church. His research agendas include identifying the influence of social media on the creation of community within faith based organizations as well as exploring the experiential and expectational differences of our multi-generational workforce. More recent research endeavors involve examining the relationship of incivility and productivity in the workplace as well as office culture and patient satisfaction in medical office environments.
